Who are the Greater Westhampton Beach Area’s most famous residents?

There was a time when Greater Westhampton Beach Area stood in the shadow of its glitzier neighbors, but the villages “South of the Highway” have come into their own.

Private jets routinely fly in and out of Gabretski Airport these days, with Fortune 500 senior executives in tow. Talon Air, with its wealthy clientele, isn’t doing too badly either.

There have also been an increasing number of star sightings in the area. Some of the biggest and brightest names congregate at DeeAngelo’s, a local restaurant and something of a private club owned by Realtor Dee Kerrigan Perfido.

Here are some of the area’s most high-profile residents.

  1. Eli Manning

       Quarterback, New York Giants

With a net worth of $100 million, Eli Manning is the 2nd highest-paid National Football League (NFL) star on Forbes’ list of top-earning athletes in 2016. Born to Archie Manning, himself a former NFL quarterback and College Football Hall of Fame inductee, the younger Manning and his brother Peyton were destined for athletic stardom.

One of the most recognizable faces in the Greater Westhampton Beach Area, Manning has been seen at the local high school’s football practice and just going about his business in town.

  1. Michael J. Fox

Actor

Best known for playing Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” films of the 1980s, Michael J. Fox is one of Westhampton’s most beloved residents. The actor-turned-Parkinson’s Disease advocate is a fixture in the community, having sent his own kids to local summer camps.

He and his wife, Tracy Pollan, whom he met on the set of “Family Ties,” purchased a multi-million dollar home in Quogue sometime in 2008. The couple, now married for over 29 years, has four children together.

  1. Susan Lucci

Actress and TV personality

Born and raised in New York, Susan Lucci starred in school musicals before landing her defining role as Erica Kane in “All My Children.” Hailed by TV Guide as “Daytime’s Leading Lady,” she was one of daytime television’s highest-paid actors at the peak of her career.

She moved to Quogue in 2008 with her husband, Austrian businessman Helmut Huber. In an interview with Hamptons.com, the actress gushed about the Westhampton Beach Area, naming her favorite shopping and dining spots. She sold her home for a cool $20 million in 2016, but she retains her ties to the community – her grandkids still hang out at the beach.

  1. Adam Sandler

Actor

The comedic actor got his start on MTV’s “Remote Control” and NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” but it was his breakthrough roles in films like “Billy Madison” and “The Wedding Singer” that made him a household name.

Sandler’s biggest role to date is father to two beautiful daughters with wife Jackie Titone. The actor has been spotted in Main Street getting ice cream with his kids. By all accounts, Sandler is a friendly guy – every bit as likeable as his on-screen persona.

  1. Kenny Atkinson

Coach, Brooklyn Nets

Former professional basketball player Kenny Atkinson makes courtside appearances as the head coach for the Brooklyn Nets, but you can also spot him in and around Westhampton Beach. He and his wife Laura bought a gorgeous cottage in Quogue in October 2016.

He’s been active in the local community, teaching kids to play ball at the Nets camp in Southampton Town Recreation Center alongside basketball players Caris LeVert and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
