  1. Sagg Main Beach

The Hamptons is known for wide, sandy beaches, and Sagg Main Beach is up there with the best of them. The low-key atmosphere is ideal for families with small children. Go on a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, admire the scenery, and take photos with which to remember your outing. Pets are not allowed from April 1 to October 1, but may be taken to the beach at other times of the year.

The Sagaponack General Store, a traditional stop for families visiting the beach, has been renamed Pierre’s Market. The store still serves delicious sandwiches and pastries – pay the store a visit for late breakfast or lunch.

  1. Montauk Point Lighthouse

A National Historic Landmark, the Montauk Point Lighthouse is oldest lighthouse in New York State. It is also one of the most iconic structures in The Hamptons. Children taller than 41 inches are allowed in the lighthouse, which commands a stunning view of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. Also to be explored are the on-site museum and gift shop. The beach front is another wonderful place to pass the time.

The drive to the lighthouse is a lovely experience in itself – take it as an opportunity to admire the area’s natural scenery.

  1. Stony Hill Stables

Renowned for dressage training, this 10-acre equestrian facility boasts some of the finest show stables in The Hamptons. The facility’s skilled and experienced instructors offer horseback riding lessons that the whole family will enjoy. They also organize pony and horse camps for children of all ages. Wick Hotchkiss, the owner, is a United States Dressage Federation silver medalist and is in charge of Stony Hill’s program.

In addition to training and education, the facility gives riders the opportunity to join horse shows at the local and regional levels.

  1. Splish Splash Water Park

At 96 acres, Splish Splash Water Park features numerous pools, play structures, rides, and other attractions that will make your trip a memorable one. Water slides, wave pools, and a pirate ship are just some of the park’s highlights. Float gently down the Lazy River and admire the scenery as you pass by. Play with water cannons and climb the ropes at Monsoon Lagoon. Ride the tentacles of a gigantic octopus at Octopus Pool.

Catch the tropical parrot show after you’re done playing in the water – watch colorful birds do tricks and other stunts that the kids will love.

Art Farm offers cooking, woodshop, animal care, and other fun classes in a rustic setting. The farm caters to small groups of children ages six to 12, offering tailored schedules and hands-on experiences. It’s an eco-friendly space where kids can learn about The Hamptons’ natural attractions, local wildlife, and sustainable practices like recycling and composting.

Go horseback riding, interact with farm animals, or try paddle boarding during your visit. Other activities include soccer, surfing, and fishing – the wide range of recreational opportunities available ensures that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
